Display Space Host Terms
Last updated: 4 September 2026
1. Who is a Host?
A Host is a business, venue or organisation that lists space where advertising can be displayed.
Examples include:
- cafés;
- restaurants;
- gyms;
- hairdressers;
- barbers;
- retail stores;
- waiting rooms;
- reception areas;
- community venues;
- noticeboards; and
- digital screens.
2. Authority to list a space
You may only list advertising space if you have authority to offer it.
If you lease premises, work within a shopping centre, franchise or managed building, you are responsible for determining whether landlord, centre management, franchisor or other approval is required.
3. Listing accuracy
Hosts must accurately describe the space.
Photographs should reasonably represent the actual advertising location.
Hosts must not knowingly exaggerate:
- visitor numbers;
- foot traffic;
- screen visibility;
- display size;
- availability;
- location;
- display duration; or
- other characteristics likely to influence an Advertiser’s decision.
4. Free and paid spaces
Hosts may offer spaces free of charge or at a price permitted by the marketplace.
Any price and applicable terms must be disclosed before an Advertiser commits to the booking.
5. Accepting enquiries
Hosts remain free to accept or decline enquiries unless a booking has already become binding.
Once accepted, the Host must make reasonable efforts to provide the agreed space for the agreed period.
6. Displaying material
Hosts must display accepted material reasonably in accordance with the booking.
A Host should not intentionally move material to a materially inferior location or remove it substantially before the end of the booked period without reasonable cause.
7. Removal of advertising
A Host may remove material where reasonably necessary because:
- it is unlawful;
- it has been materially altered from the approved version;
- it is unsafe;
- it is offensive or inappropriate for the venue;
- continued display would breach another legal obligation; or
- an emergency or circumstance outside the Host’s reasonable control makes display impractical.
Where practicable, the Advertiser should be informed promptly.
8. Loss or damage
Printed promotional material may be handled by customers or affected by ordinary activity within a public venue.
Hosts must take reasonable care but do not guarantee that individual flyers or brochures will remain undamaged or untouched throughout a booking.
9. Digital advertising
Hosts listing screens must accurately describe the approximate screen location and relevant display arrangement.
They must make reasonable efforts to run accepted advertising in accordance with the agreed schedule.
10. Independent businesses
Hosts operate independently.
Listing a venue does not create an employment, franchise, partnership or agency relationship between the Host and Perth Leaflet Distribution.
11. Taxes
Hosts are responsible for their own taxation, GST, record-keeping and business obligations arising from income they receive through the marketplace.
